The Dragon Stone

The god Ninurta fighting Anzu. This drawing was made from the original found in the Temple of Ninurta, Nimrud, Iraq. The artist is Austen Henry Layard and it was published in 'A Second Series of the Monuments of Nineveh' (1853). This picture is sometimes identified as Tiamat and Marduk fighting. This seems less likely as it was found in a temple dedicated to Ninurta.
