Two variations on a wingless lindworm, taken from the 1678 edition of
'The History of Four-footed Beasts and Serpents' by Edward Topsell.
The book titles this creature as a cockatrice. At this time, definitions like lindworm,
wyvern and cockatrice were used in different ways by different people. The standards used
today were not universal at that time. This picture is a good example of this in action.
