[ Return to European Dragons ] Location: Description: Amphisbaena can travel in either direction. They are also capable of rolling by having the two heads grasp each other forming a hoop. Unlike most reptiles, it was said that they were resistant to cold. Stories of the amphisbaena were popular in Europe and it appeared in a number of bestiaries.
