Description:
The Serpent Mound is found in the USA in the state of Ohio. The mound is a giant
earthwork which forms a long serpent. The tail end is in a spiral. The head end
appears to be eating an oval and aligns with the sunset
at the summer solstice. The oval is normally considered to be an egg, though it
is not known for certain what it was intended to be. The serpent is about a quarter
of a mile long.
The legend behind the mound is unknown as the mound builders were no longer there.
It can be assumed that this mound was very significant to the builders, due to the
effort it would have taken to make.
